Maybe no other plant in the Irish ecosystem could be better suited to the 2022 theme of “Infinite Possibilities” than Willow.
It’s provided us with abundant resources in the past looking to the future it is a promising ally in facing both the biodiversity and climate crises. We are hoping you will join us in the hands on, drop-in-drop-out workshop running from 10am-3pm on Sunday 13th November to plant and weave a living Willow structure and explore the vast resources as medicine, timber and as a means of bio-remediation and protection.
The sessions will be complimented by a nature table inside the Centre exploring the ecology of the area. This will include an exhibit of the aquatic life to be found within the centre, a seed display and a selection of microscopes set up to allow people to look deeper into the complexity of the natural world.
This programme is support by LAWPRO under the Water Quality Enhancement Fund 2022, Transition Kerry and Tralee Bay Wetlands Eco & Activity Park.
